Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and faced problems to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has called for "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in providing protection systems and applying sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 projectiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

Regional authorities said the city came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A young boy died and three other people were hurt.

The strikes succeed evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.

Authorities told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
